C-Merak’s operation is located in Tisdale where over 2,000,000 acres of prime farmland are concentrated. The region offers extensive production capacity to supply pure, healthy and natural source materials to make ingredients. That’s why we are here. Value added production where there is an abundant supply of materials from our family of producers just makes sense.

Our passion for Faba beans started in a very practical way. We were looking for a new crop to bring into our rotation that would thrive in the growing region. Not only did the bean thrive in our environment, we began to discover the significant agronomic value of Faba fields.

As a rotational pulse crop, Faba beans flourish in a high moisture environment making them well suited to areas where chickpeas, lentils and peas can struggle with disease. The crop fixes more nitrogen per bushel produced than all other pulses. This natural nitrogen reduces fertilizer needs and can boost yield and protein content on future crops. Less inputs mean a reduction in greenhouse emissions.
